Open in App
Solution

Growth is defined as an irreversible increase in size accompanied by an increase in dry weight. The basic process of growth is the production of new protoplasm in the regions of active cell division.

The next stage in growth is the increase in plant size, due to the absorption of water and the stretching of the tissues.

The third stage in growth involves the entry of a lot of building materials like carbohydrates into the Tissues. This causes an increase in dry weight.
