What are the columns of Bertini?

Open in App
Solution

There are two regions in the kidney, outer cortex and the inner medulla region. The medulla contains structures like conical masses. These are known as the medullary pyramids. The pyramids project outward to form the calyces. The cortex region is extended in between the medullary pyramids to form the renal columns called as the columns of Bertini.
