The components of embryo-
1. Cotyledons- Seed leaves that are attached to embryonal axis.
2. Epicotyl- It is the embryonic shoot that is present above the cotyledons.
3. Plumule- Forms shoot after germination.
4. Radicle- Becomes the primary root after germination.
5. Hypocotyl- It is an embryonic root that is present below the cotyledons.
The outer covering of embryo is known as seed coat that contains stored food containing proteins.
