Step 1: The definition of echo

  1. The reflection back of sound when it strikes any large obstacles.
  2. The reflection of sound arrives at the listener with a delay after the direct sound.
  3. Echoes may be heard more than once due to successive or multiple reflections.

Step 2: The conditions required for the production of echo:

  1. For hearing a clear echo, the time gap between the original and reflected sound must be more than 0.1s.
  2. The minimum distance between the origin point and the reflecting surface should be 17.2 m.
  3. The echo is not produced in the room because the gap between two opposite walls of the room is less than 17.2 m.
