1. Ramakrishna Gopal Bandarkar born in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra was a researcher in Sanskrit.
2. He constructed the political history of the Deccan of the Satavahanas and the history of Vaishnavism and other sects.
3. He was a member of Paramhansa Sabha and Prarthana Sabha working as a social reformer.
4. He raised his voice against caste system, and child marriage.
5. He supported female education and widow remarriage.
6. He was honoured with the title Sir in 1911.
