The conventional methods used for the purification of water are as follows:
Boiling: Boiling kills all the microorganisms like viruses, parasites, and bacteria which could be present in the water
Sedimentation: Sedimentation is a process by which heavier impurities present in liquid normally water settle down at the bottom of the container containing the mixture. Water is removed and impurities will leave at the bottom of container.
Filtration: Water filtration is the process of removing the concentration of particulate matter, including suspended particles as well as other undesirable chemical and biological contaminants from contaminated water to produce safe and clean water.
Chlorination: Water chlorination is the process of adding chlorine or chlorine compounds to water. This method is used to kill bacteria, viruses, and other microbes in water.
