Question

What are the differences between a physical change and a chemical change?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
A physical change is the one in which the substance don't change ie. form of a chemical substance changes , but not its chemical composition. In physical changes mixtures are separated into component eg,Clay is moulded into a new shape
while in a chemical change a new substance is formed and energy is either released or absorbed It affects both the physical and chemical properties , atoms rearrange and hence new components are formed. Eg, Rust forms on a nail left outside.
