Transport in Phloem
Xylem transports water and minerals from roots to all the other parts of the plants.
Phloem transport food from leaves to other parts of the plant. It also transports hormones.
The transport in xylem is unidirectional only i.e upwards (from roots to the above parts).
The transport in phloem is bidirectional i.e can be upwards as well as downwards.
Transport in the xylem requires physical forces such as transpiration pull.
Transport in phloem requires energy in the form of ATPs.
