Features of Indian federalism that make India a federal country are
1. There is a central government and state governments.
2. The central government has jurisdiction over the central subjects are enumerated in the constitution while state governments have jurisdiction over state subjects.
3. The central government is relatively more powerful in India than in other federal countries. Thus, the constitution grants residual powers to the central government. In case there is any conflict between central and state laws, the central law will prevail.
