Infectious diseases: These are the diseases that are transmitted via various agents from an infected person to a healthy person. they are also called transmittable or communicable diseases. For example, Common cold, chickenpox, scabies, cholera, etc.

The different means of transmission of infectious diseases are as follows:

  1. Direct Transmission:
  1. Contact with an infected person (Scabies)
  2. Animal bites (Rabies)
  3. Contact with infected Soil (Tetanus)
  4. Droplet infection (Tuberculosis)

2. Indirect Transmission:

  1. Vector-borne (Malaria)
  2. Food and Waterborne (Typhoid)
  3. Airborne (Pneumonia)
  4. Fomite-borne (Diarrhea)
