Hiware Bazar is located in Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra. It is situated on the eastern (rain shadow) side of the Sahyadri mountain ranges that run north-south and separate Konkan, the coastal region, from the rest of Maharashtra.
Hiware Bazar was selected under the Adarsh Gram Yojana to revamp villages.
Following are the measures taken by the government:
Continuous contour trenches were built.
  • To reduce soil erosion.

  • When there is good rainfall, villagers will use all the available land for cultivation.
  • When there is less rainfall villagers will cultivate limited land.
  • They will maintain rainwater data.
