During the 18th century France there were revolutionary groups like Jacobins and Girondins.
Jacobin Club was led by Maxmilien Roberspierre in 1793. It propagated the ideas of universal equality among citizens, the freedom of the individual and universal brotherhood. It provided support to the most radical phase of French Revolution.
Girondins were the members of a political faction which took active part during French Revolution. It was led by Jacques-Pierre Brissot. They were active within National Convention and Legislative Assembly. They believed in Constitutional monarchy which would bring stability in the country. They also had the idea of establishing a decentralised government by giving autonomous powers to the provinces
