Elements can be classified as Metals, Non-metals and Metalloids.
1. Metals: A metal is an element that is malleable, ductile and conducts electricity.
For example:- Iron, copper, zinc etc.
2. Non-metals: A non-metal is an element that is neither malleable nor ductile and does not conduct electricity.
For Example:- Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus etc.
3. Metalloids: The elements that show some properties of metals and some properties of non-metals are called metalloids.
For Example:- Boron, Silicon etc.
