There are four types of hearts on the basis of chambers present:
1. One-chambered heart: Worms and other simple structured organisms have one-chambered heart.
2. Two-chambered heart: Fishes have two-chambered heart. They have one ventricle and one atrium.
3. Three-chambered heart: Reptiles and amphibians have three-chambered heart. Crocodile is an exception. These organisms have one ventricle and two atria.
4. Four chambered heart: Mammals, birds and crocodiles have four-chambered heart. They have two ventricles and two atria.
