Permanent tissue: The tissue that has grown completely and thus loses its ability to divide.

Types of permanent Tissue:

  1. There are different types of permanent tissues formed due to differences in their specialization i.e. simple or complex.
  2. The permanent tissues consist of two types of tissues namely Simple permanent tissue and Complex permanent tissue.

Simple permanent tissue

  1. In simple permanent tissues, cells are similar in structure, origin, and function.
  2. There are three types of simple permanent tissue namely Parenchyma, Collenchyma, and Sclerenchyma.

Complex permanent tissue

  1. Complex permanent tissues are made up of more than one type of cell which coordinates to perform a common function.
  2. The complex permanent tissue is of two types namely, Xylem and Phloem.
