Different types of underground stem modifications are :
1) Rhizome: it is fleshy non-green stem having distinct nodes and internodes. It is found in Ginger, Banana, Alocacia, etc.
2) Bulb: It is a highly condensed discoid stem consisting of a terminally placed bud and many fleshy leaves in its upper surface. Eg- Lily, garlic, etc.
3)Corm: It is a condensed form of rhizome growing in the vertical direction. eg- Colacaasa, amorphophallus, etc.
4)Tubers: Stem tuber is the swollen tip of the underground lateral stem (stolon). eg- Potato
