Directive Principles of State Policy are mentioned in Part IV of the Indian constitution and have been borrowed from the Irish constitution.
These directives are guidelines for the state to become an ideal welfare state.Hence, play an important role in the governance of the country. Directive principles are not enforceable and act as a moral obligation on the state. These directives guide the law-making process in legislatures as well as the implementation of acts and policies formed on this basis.
