The main disadvantages of asexual reproduction are as follows:

  3. It can be very difficult to control the population in asexual reproduction.
  4. Once mutated it can wipe out an entire species of asexual reproduction.
  5. Insect resistance is minimal in plants reproduced by asexual reproduction.
