What are the effects of manganese toxicity in plants?

Manganese toxicity symptom is appearance of brown spots surrounded by chlorotic veins. It is seen that Mn competes with iron and magnesium for uptake. Also is a competitor to magnesium for binding to enzymes. Mn also inhibits Ca translocation in shoot apex. Hence, Mn excess causes deficiency of Mg, Fe and Ca.
