Question

What are the factors that affect self-confidence

Open in App
Solution

Work energy theorem states that the change in kinetic energy of an object is equal to the net-work done on it by the net force.

&nbps

Derivation:

Let us assume that the body is at rest and the force acting is \(underset{F}{rightarrow}\). This applied force causes a displacement of the body which is given as \(dunderset{s}{rightarrow}\) in the direction of the force.

Then the small amount of work done is given as

dw=\(underset{F}{rightarrow}\).\(dunderset{s}{rightarrow}\)=Fds

From Newton’s second law of motion, we know

F=ma

Where a is acceleration

Therefore,

dw=Mada=Mdv/dt ds

The work done by the force in order to increase the velocity from intial velocity u to final velocity v is given as

\(W=int_{u}^{v}Mvdv=Mint_{u}^{v}vdv\)

=\(Mleft | frac{v^{2}}{2} right |_{u}^{v}\)

W=1/2 Mv2 – 1/2Mu2

&nbps

Hence, work done on the body when the force is applied is equal to the change in its kinetic energy.
