• Central Highlands are one of the main divisions of Peninsular plateau.
• It comprises of plateaus like Chota Nagpur, Malwa plateau.
• They stretch from the north-west with the Aravalis, further merging with the sandy and rocky desert of Rajasthan.
• They are wider in the west but narrower in the east.
• The eastward extensions of this plateau are locally known as the Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand.
