  3. The epithelial tissues form a protective layer around the organs, lining of the mouth, and alimentary canal.
  4. The epithelial tissues in the nephrons of the kidneys help to eliminate waste products.
  5. The epithelial tissues have a secretory function as a variety of substances like saliva, sweat, enzymes, etc.
  6. The epithelial tissues act as a barrier and help to protect the body from viral or bacterial infections and also protect the underlying cells from drying, injury, and chemical effects.
