Dear student,
Gall bladder is a small organ lying just below the liver and it stores the bile juice released from the liver when it is not needed. The bile juice is then released from the gall bladder to the duodenum of small intestine to digest fats.
Removal of the gall bladder leads to loss of the storage site for bile. In these people the bile constantly circulates from liver to bile duct to small intestine and back to liver. In the absence of gall bladder the liver will secrete small amount of bile into the upper part of small intestine. So small amount of fats can easily be digested but the trouble starts when food with high fat content is eaten. If the diet is regulated with very low fat content the person would survive with no major consequences .
Regards.
