What are the functions of lymph in the body?

Lymph -

  1. Lymph is a straw-coloured fluid absorbed by lymph capillaries from inter-cellular spaces.
  2. Lymph is identical to blood plasma except it contains no RBC, platelets and a few proteins.
  3. The amount of calcium and phosphorus is also less but it can easily clot like blood.

Functions of lymph

  1. Lymph carries CO2 waste, secretions and other products of cells and tissues to the blood.
  2. Lymph transports lymphocytes and antibodies from lymph nodes to blood.
