Solution
Multicellular organisms
A multicellular organism is made up of millions of cells that are specialized to carry out a few functions.
There is a division of labour among the cells in a multicellular organism to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the functions being performed.
Cells are arranged into different tissues which carry out a particular function.
Every tissue is specifically designed to carry out its specific function.
Cells carry out the function of protection as in the skin cells and WBCs, exchange of gases and nutrients, respiration as in the lungs, digestion as in the alimentary canal, secretion as in the liver and other glands, cell division as in the basal skin layer, contraction, and movement as in the muscles.
