What are the gases that collect at the electrode during electrolysis of water with a pinch of iodized salt dissolved in it?

Dear Student,

The gas collected at anode is oxygen and at cathode hydrogen is formed. Water consist of 2 atom of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen so we find volume of gas collected in one electrode is double the volume of gas collected in other electrode.
