Chemicals present in plastics make water unfit for drinking. Also, plastics take a long time to decompose. They stay in the water for a long time and cause harm to water animals. Birds get it stuck in their throats and fish in the ocean can get wrapped and trapped in it. Bigger fishes can ingest it unknowingly along with the water. Plastics in water can also clog drains and obstruct the flow of water.
