• Impurities present in bauxite are iron oxides such as hematite $\left({\mathrm{Fe}}_2{\mathrm{O}}_3\right)$ and geothite $\left({\mathrm{FeHO}}_2\right)$, silicon dioxide $\left({\mathrm{SiO}}_2\right)$, the clay mineral kaolinite $\left({\mathrm{Al}}_2{\mathrm{O}}_3.2{\mathrm{SiO}}_2.2{\mathrm{H}}_2\mathrm{O}\right)$ and a small amount of titanium dioxide $\left({\mathrm{TiO}}_2\right)$.
