Open in App
Solution

Find the intercepts of 5x+3y=-7.

Equation of x-axis is y=0.

So after putting the value of y=0 in the equation, l get an intercept from the x-axis:

5x+30=-7⇒x=-75.

Therefore, the equation of the y-axis is x=0.

Now, putting x=0 in the given equation we will get an intercept from the y-axis:

5×0+3×y=-7⇒y=-73

Hence, the intercepts of the given equiation are -75and-73.
