what are the intrinsic and extrinsic factors for disease. ?

Dear student.

Those factors that come from outside the body and cause disease are called as extrinsic factors.

It includes excessive intake or deficiency of some nutrients, use of abusive drugs such as narcotics, tobacco and alcohol, an infection caused by microorganisms and environmental pollutants such as pollens, dust etc.

The disease that occurs due to extrinsic factors are nutritional diseases ( e.g. Kwashiorkar etc.), malaria, cholera etc.

Intrinsic factors are the diseases causing factors present inside the body. They are allergy, malfunctioning of body parts, hereditary diseases, hormonal imbalance etc.
