Halo: In performance appraisal, the problem that occurs is -when a supervisor's rating of a subordinate on one trait biases the rating of that person on other traits.
Horn effect: The rater's bias in the other direction, where one negative quality of the employee is being rated harshly.
Leniency: The problem that occurs when a supervisor has a tendency to rate all subordinates either high or low
Central tendency: A tendency to rate all employees the same way, avoiding the high and the low ratings.
Stereotyping: It is mental picture that an individual holds about a person because of that person's age, sex, caste, religion etc.
Recency effect: The rater gives greater weightage to recent occurrence than earlier performance.
