The law of flotation states that a floating body displaces the weight of the fluid in which it floats.
According to the principle of flotation, an object will float in a liquid if the weight of an object is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced by it.
This means if a log floats in water and displaces water if the same log is placed in another liquid and can float it will displace the same fluid in which it float.
