What are the limitations and advantages of solar energy?

Solar energy has many applications such as cooking, heating, electricity production, etc. It has advantages as well as some limitations that are listed below.

Advantages:

1. It is a clean form of energy and does not produce any pollution harming the environment.
2. Solar energy is available in unlimited quantity, and it is inexhaustible.
3. It is cheap and easily available in most parts of the Earth.

Limitations:

1. Solar energy is only available on sunny days. On a cloudy or rainy day, it may not be available.
2. The direction of the Sun keeps changing with time. A proper extraction system is required that changes its position according to the position of the Sun.
3. Enough and efficient systems of solar energy extraction are not available until now; at present, only around 25% of solar energy is extracted.
