Open in App
Solution

The limitations in obtaining energy from wind are:

1. Wind energy farms can be established only at those places where the wind blows for the greater part of the year.

2. There should be some back-up facilities like storage cells to take care of the energy during the period when there is no wind.
3. The wind speed should be higher than 15 Km/h to maintain the required speed of the turbine. This speed is not available in all regions.
4. A large area of land is required for establishing wind energy farms.
5. The initial cost of establishing wind energy farms is quite high.
6. The windmill towers and blades need a high level of maintenance because they are exposed to rain, sun, storms, etc.
