Solution
Well
is an excavation or a structure created in ground by digging or drilling to
pull underground water.
Water
is drawn by using a motor pump or by a bucket and rope.
A well
is usually dug where sweet underground water is available like in northern
plains, regions of the Mahanadi, the Godavari, the Krishna and the Cauvery,
parts of the Narmada and the Tapti valleys.
It is
dug 3-15 metres deep.
Usually
used to lift the ground water from the well for irrigation, drinking, bathing
and for other purposes.
