Water pollution-

1. Any unwanted substance added to the water bodies leads to contamination which causes water pollution.

The main sources of water pollution are -

1. Industries- Industries release untreated water into the rivers, resulting in the death of the fish and other aquatic organisms.
2. Sewage- Untreated sewage water added into the rivers causes water pollution.
3. Agriculture- Overuse of chemical fertilizers to grow crops may allow them to find their way to the natural water bodies around the area. This may also lead to biomagnification.
