Translation
The process of forming polypeptide chains from an mRNA template is known as translation.
The following are the main steps in translation:
Charging or aminoacylation of tRNA is an example of amino acid activation.
The binding of mRNA and aminoacylated tRNA to the small subunit of the ribosome, followed by the large subunit, is the start of the process.
Elongation occurs when the ribosome reaches the stop codon in mRNA and forms peptide bonds and grows the polypeptide chain.
Translation comes to an end when it reaches the stop codon.
The ribosome dissociates mRNA and protein.
