Since Africa is a very huge continent, There are many physical features as well. The important physical features of Africa that have desert, mountains, rivers, a Great Rift Valley, and lakes.

• Desert- the Sahara desert is the largest desert in the world and the other popular deserts in Africa are the Namib desert and the Kalahari desert.
• Mountain- major mountains in the region are the Kilimanjaro range and Atlas ranges. the Kilimanjaro range is the highest mountain range in Africa. The height of Mount Kilimanjaro is about 5895 meters.
• Rivers- the major rivers are the Nile, the longest river in the world. Also, other major rivers in Africa are the Niger river the Congo river the Zambezi river, and the orange river.
• Great rift valley- Rift valleys are lowlands between two landmasses formed due to the movement of tectonic plates. when the tectonic plates in the earth’s lithosphere move apart, a flat-bottomed valley is formed by the sinking of the land between the plates and that is how these rift valleys are formed. The most well-known rift valley on Earth is the Great Rift Valley in Africa
• Lakes- Some of the major lakes in Africa are – Albert, Edward, Victoria, Tanganyika, and Nyasa. Among all these lakes, Lake Victoria is the largest lake.
