Solution

Merits of the Mendeleev’s Periodic Table:

  • He left gaps for the some undiscovered elements in the periodic table. The properties of those undiscovered elements can be predicted based on the properties of the elements present in the same group.
  • For athe better understanding, he even named these missing elements as Eka boron, Eka aluminium, and Eka silicon which were later discovered and named as the scandium, gallium, and germanium respectively.
  • In his periodic table, he also corrected the doubtful atomic weights of some elements like indium, beryllium, and uranium.
