The modes of asexual reproduction are-
a) Binary fission- In binary fission, the parent cell divides into two or more cells. For eg- Amoeba can divide itself into two at any plane.
b) Budding- Budding is the process in which organisms develop bud which gets detached from the parent cell and form a new individual. For eg- From the parent Hydra bud arises. Once it gets mature, it detaches from the parent cell and forms into a new individual.
c) Fragmentation- Here the parent body divides into two or more fragments which later develops into a new individual. For eg- The parent Planaria divides into fragments which develop into a new individual.
d) Regeneration- The cell divides into numerous pieces, each piece proliferates and differentiates to regenerate new organisms. For eg- Hydra and Planaria show regeneration.
e) Vegetative propagation- Plants reproduce asexually through their vegetative parts such as leaves, roots, stem, and buds. Such reproduction is known as vegetative propagation. For eg- Onion bulbs, tubers of potato
