Question

What are the monomers of nucleic acids? What is the linkage between monomer units?

Open in App
Solution

Nucleic acids are bio polymers composed of monomer units called as nucleotides, thus they are the building blocks of all nucleic acids. Each nucleotide is made up of base unit (purine or Pyramidine bases) and sugar unit (ribose or deoxy ribose) and phosphate unit.
These units are connected by hydrogen bond, electrostatic force of attraction and vanderWaal's force of attraction
