  1. The concept of ‘colour conventions’ refers to the idea that certain colours are familiarly associated with specific meanings.
  2. Therefore the developers of systems in which colour electronic displays will be used for the man-machine interface should pay attention to colour conventions.

According to the old international colour coding convention:-

It is stated that the live wire is represented by red colour, the neutral wire is represented by black colour and the earth wire is represented by green colour.

According to the new international colour coding convention:-

According to the new convention, the live wire of codded by brown colour, the neutral wire is coded by light blue colour whereas earth wire is coded by green and yellow colour.
