Dear Student
Like other ecosystems, forest ecosystem also comprises of biotic and abiotic components. Biotic components are plants, animals and microrganisms inhabiting that area and abiotic components (factors) are temperature, light, air, water, etc. Apart from the usual abiotic factors, fire is considered as a dominant abiotic factor in forest ecosystems.
Forest ecosystem is a major unit of the terrestrial ecosystem. These are dominated by trees growing at minimum of 2m height together with native wildlife species. Nonliving things like water, soil and air interact with the living components.
Depend on the temperature and region, organisms differ in forests.
Like coniferous forests have long-eared owls, otters, porcupines, bobcats, coyotes, black bears and beavers.
