Solution

Muscle Tissues:

  1. Muscles are soft tissues that can be found in both humans and animals.
  2. Muscles are made up of myosin and actin protein filaments that slide past each other and cause Muscles to expand and contract.
  3. The human muscular system consists of over 600 muscles and accounts for 40-50 percent of our total body weight.
  4. Muscles are connected to blood vessels, bones, and other internal organs.
  5. Muscles are made up of various types of elastic tissue, tendons, nerves, and tissues.
  6. The following characteristics of muscle tissues allow for smooth function execution and, as a result, homeostasis:
    1. Contractility: Contractility is the ability of muscle tissues to shorten and thicken, thereby producing force to work. Muscles contract in response to one or more muscle action potentials.
    2. Elasticity: Elasticity is the ability of muscle tissues to return to their original shape following extension or contraction.
    3. Extensibility: Muscles can be extended without causing damage to the tissue. The majority of the skeletal muscles are organised in opposing pairs.
    4. Excitability: Excitability is a property shared by nerve and muscle cells. It is the ability to generate electrical signals in response to certain stimuli (action potentials)
