• Creation of job opportunities: Urban centres have a lot of job opportunities, particularly in secondary, tertiary, and quaternary sectors​.
• Modernisation of the region: Urban areas see migration from different regions, and this brings varying skill sets, perspectives, and ideas. So, new industries, businesses, and startups are majorly in and around ​urban areas​.
• Social harmony and peace: In urban centres, people from different ​regions and cultures live together. This leads to exchanges of thoughts, ​cultures, and traditions. This social cohesion leads to harmony and peace, ​and this strengthens our country.​
• Presence of amenities and various facilities: There is the presence ​of well-developed transport and communication network, which allows ​freight movement and boosts markets and trading. Better education ​facilities, especially higher education attracts many students to big cities. Medical facilities are also far advanced in ​urban areas.​
