What are the processes involved in the formation of rain?
Evaporation, Condensation
When water bodies are heated during the daytime, a large amount of water evaporates and goes into the air. The hot air rises up along with water vapour with it. As the air rises, it expands and cools. The condensation of water vapour results in the formation of clouds (which are tiny water droplets around particles of dust). These clouds are carried away with the help of winds and when they become heavy or meet an obstacle (such as hills), they fall down as rain.
