Question

What are the properties of perfect gas?

Open in App
Solution

Perfect gas:

A perfect gas is a gas that perfectly obeys the ideal gas law as well as exhibits a heat capacity that is independent of temperature.

A law that provides a relationship between the pressure exerted by a gas, the volume occupied by the gas, the amount of gaseous substance, and the absolute temperature of the gas, is the ideal gas law.

Perfect gas law:

PV=nRT

Here,

P is the pressure.

V is the volume.

n is the number of moles present.

R is a constant.

T is the temperature.

Properties of a perfect gas:

  1. The ideal gas would be made up of many identical molecules.
  2. Whenever the volume of the gas has been tried to compare with the volume of the particles has been regarded as trivial.
  3. The collisions that perhaps the molecules undergo are thought to be fully elastic in nature, as well as the time frame required is thought to be insignificant.
  4. Molecules migrate at random as well as follow Newton's laws of motion.
