Solution

Solids:

  • A solid is a matter that exists in a solid state.
  • Examples are Wood, books, and rock.

Properties of solid:

  • The particles in a solid are tightly packed.
  • The intermolecular forces present in the solid are very strong due to which they are rigid in nature.
  • They are incompressible as there is negligible space between the particles.
  • Solid has a definite shape, mass, and volume.
  • The matter in its solid-state has the lowest amount of thermal energy as there is no space for the particles to move around.
  • Solid tends to have a great electrical conductivity.
