What are the S block elements explain the position of S-block element in periodic table

s-block elements are the elements in which the last electron enters into s-subshell. Group 1 and group 2 elements i.e. alkali metals and alkaline earth metals are s-block elements as their valence shell electronic configuration is ns1 and ns2 respectively where n is the shell number.
