The Arya Samaj opposed child marriage, polygamy, purdha system, casteism and safi and advocated women education, intercaste marraige and inter dining. If insisted on education of the women and upliftment of the depressed classes. The samaj started a number of schoold all over the country to impact English and Vedic education called Dayananda Anglo-Vedic(DAV) schools and colleges.
